Using The Machine

Almost all aspects of the machine are controlled and monitored from the touch display and, together with the new drive system, the character and performance of the machine is improved beyond all recognition. Operation is simply a case of choosing the product from its descriptive name and pressing the start button.

From easy and rapid size changes through a wealth of productivity enhancements and features to a wider range of product sizes and higher packing rates. The video here and on the 'Home' page gives you an idea of the 'look and feel' of the machine and its features.

What You Get

The parts we supply depends on your requirements and capabilities. We can supply everything from the primary components to a completely converted machine.

A common approach is that shown here - a built and tested electrical panel designed specifically to fit in your machine. You simply connect the existing start and stop buttons, guard switches, sensors and heater elements to the appropriate terminals.

This can be an excellent cost-effective solution if you are also mechanically overhauling a machine as it's often cheaper and easier than replacing the original mechanical components and adds real benefits and value.

Installation Overview

Whether you perform the work yourself or leave it to us at one of our regional workshops, the process is the same:

   - Strip out all the existing drive components, adjustment systems and electrics - click for example

   - Couple the 3 motor/gearbox assemblies to the existing jaw, film and infeed shafts - click for example

   - Mount the new electrical panel into the machine - click for example

   - Fit the touch display in a convenient position - click for example

   - If required, construct or locate a suitable mounting for the registration sensor - click for example

   - Connect external buttons, guard switches, sensors and heater elements to supplied terminal strip

   - Power up and set machine parameters to match your specific machine - click for example

   - How It Works? - click for details

The conversion is well within the capabilities of most maintenance or service engineers and at every step you have full telephone, email or even on-site support from real experts, backed by ISO9000:2000 accreditation. Because practically all the internal mechanism is removed and replaced with three simple motors, the mechanical work is relatively simple. Most makes and models of flow-wrapper have been converted and we can send in an expert engineer to assess exactly what's required before you start.

There are thousands of existing Form-Fill and Seal packaging machines, often known as flow-wrap, flowrapper, flow-pack, flowrapper packing machines in current use and many more second-hand used flow-wrap, flowrapper, flow-packs in indefinite storage because they are incapable of wrapping modern pre-printed film materials. Printed film, often called registered film, film registration, PEC, is becoming more and more common as it provides a significantly higher quality wrap. The cost of new packaging machinery which caters for printed film is high and can still be troublesome on some low budget machines. Older mechanically operated PEC registration is inaccurate and wasteful, often taking many packs to pull into registration and significantly wandering around a registration mark. The midasmotion equipment is considerably more accurate and pulls into registration almost immediately, wasting no bags or film material. Used, second-hand and old flow wrappers, flow-wrappers and similar machines can easily be converted to perform high performance registration using this midasmotion designed equipment. Even new machines ordered without print registration can be modified cheaply and easily. Machinery manufactures use the system to add film registration to their own basic design of packing machine. The basic registration PEC system can be extended to form the complete control system for flow-pack, flow-wrap, flowrapping packaging machinery. Packing machines with fifteen or more fully synchronised axes and sophisticated user interfaces driving complete packaging lines have been built using this product. Large corporate end-users of packing machinery to small family run bakeries have used this equipment at the heart of their packing machinery and packaging lines. The kit can be fitted to almost any flowrapper such as those by Record, Ilapak, Ulma, PFM, Rose Foregrove, Tyyrell, Argosy, Delfin, GSP, TISOMI, Auto-Wrapper, Bradman Lake, Bosch and many more. The motion controller is designed and manufactured by midasmotion ltd with servo and inverters by Omron/Yaskawa. Encoders are by BEC.
